A woman who stole a police officer’s French fries in Washington D.C. has been arrested. She’s facing charges of theft after the incident at a local restaurant, reports confirm.
Two women who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, visited visited an Italian kitchen on U in the northwest of D.C. where the bad behavior was reported, according to Fox 5.
The ladies could have been so hungry and without money, so they approached the police officer’s table and started a friendly conversation. While they talked, one of the women started eating fries from his plate.
“I then politely asked D-1 to not do that again because I paid for that food and she was stealing from me and she could be arrested for theft of my food,” the officer wrote in a police report.
The woman responded by saying, “well then you might as well take me to jail,” before taking a third fry.
As she requested, the angry and embarrassed officer quickly arrested her. She has been charged with a second-degree theft with the stolen property registered as “French Fried Potato. . . quantity = 3,” the Washington Post reported.
“The listed offender appropriated the listed property without the consent of the listed complainant,” the police report stated.
