Chimezie Irobiko, is a prolific Nigerian writer, teacher and blogger who brings dynamism and creativity to the art of information dissemination. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Public Administration from Abia State University, Uturu (2001 – 2005).
Born on 30 March 1981, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Chimezie has produced several articles for corporate bodies and individuals. He specializes in news blogs, educative articles, sponsored posts, social media advertising and academic projects. His Versatile Blogger Award was earned from the several successful academic papers such as Statement of Purpose (SOP) for admissions into master’s and PhD programs. He also writes professional biographies and offers CV editing services to a variety of clients.
In September 2005, he graduated with Second Class honours and was posted for his mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps program in Kaduna State (2006 – 2007). Known for his highly reserved nature, humility and dedication to work, his posting at Kaduna State Local Government Headquarters, Doka, yielded fruits in less than 6 months. For the satisfactory services rendered, his supervisor recommended him for promotion from a group of other eight interns at the admin office, to serve as Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) at the NYSC Kaduna North Headquarters, situated about 1 kilometre away.
His enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal relationship and level of competency made him a respected servant to both NYSC officials and fellow interns. While on the tasking job, he conducted weekly headcounts, liaised with officials on corps members placement issues, service records, discrimination at work, job challenges and general well-being. He also handled administrative works in the offices of NYSC Director and Co-ordinator, where he singlehandedly compiled an unprecedented alphabetical list of all corps members in Kaduna State, assisted members with presentable official letters, and offered meaningful pieces of advice to interns and officials, who he also aided with their daily responsibilities at the offices. The trust he earned from his supervisor was evident in the woman’s decision to grant him full possession rights to her office key rather than leave it with the security personnel; he was the first to work and last to leave. However, the politics of securing Nigeria’s federal job posed an obstacle for a permanent job at the end of his selfless service to the country.
Chimezie would have been a banker with Fidelity Bank Plc, having passed its written exam and first oral interview before he got a visa to work and study in North-Western University, located in Xian, China. He left for the Asian country in September 2009 and worked with several kindergartens, primary/secondary schools, English training schools, notably Kid Castle Education and a university, Xian University of Technology & Architecture, in a career which lasted nearly 8 years. He returned home to spend time with his family in April 2017.
He currently writes on his private-owned website www.meziesblog.com and offers freelance services to a Nigerian-based consulting firm 5Star Global, headquartered in Delta State.
The blogger is a passionate lover of football. Apart from writing, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies and playing scrabble. His eagerness to promote sex education and influence socio-cultural change towards the LGBT community inspired the writer’s upcoming novel.
He lives in Enugu State, Nigeria, and is readily available to offer writing, teaching and advertising services to individuals, groups, companies, parties and multinational corporations.
