Odion Ighalo, the Nigerian professional footballer who plays for Chinese club Changchun Yatai, is currently under Barcelona’s radar as the La Liga champions look to improve their attacking options.

According to Sport the 29-year-old striker could be a suitable replacement for Uruguay international Luis Suarez.

Barca management believes Ighalo’s arrival at Camp Nou will provide adequate cover for Munir El Haddadi, who recently moved to Sevilla, and Denis Suarez, whose transfer agreement is almost completed.

Ighalo has been desperate for another taste of top-flight football since the Chinese Super League club downgraded to a lower division last year.

Fenerbahce, Southampton and Galatasaray have shown interest in the striker, media reports confirm.

However, Ighalo told Sky Sports that he wants a return to the English Premier League. He has scored 36 goals in 55 games for Changchun Yatai.

The January 2017 transfer valued at $25 million appears a terrible mistake for Ighalo as well as a lost opportunity for Changchun Yatai–especially if he leaves now.

Pundits believe services from the former Watford and Udinese player might be needed at Everton, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.
