According to Capital FM, the deceased was in the company of her American boyfriend who’s said to be a pilot.

At about 5.00 am, the woman left her boyfriend in the hotel room, saying she was going to take a dive in the pool, Nairobi Police Boss Japheth Koome said in an official statement.

“The incident took place when the woman who is Kenyan and her boyfriend were at the Hilton hotel where they had checked in at dawn. They had been partying during the night and had frequented two clubs in Westlands,” he said.

Police say the pilot and another lady discovered his girlfriend had drowned when they went to check, but it’s yet unclear if there’s any foul play in her death.

“The three were in their room when the lady decided to go for a swim. The boyfriend and the other friend later came out and found her in the swimming pool,” he explained.

Police boss Koome confirmed official statements from the pilot and their other friend(s) will be recorded for further investigations.

The Hilton hotel staff will also be required to provide all necessary details that’ll help police crack the case, he said.

When Capital FM News visited the Hotel, the guards were tight lipped over the incident but stated that “the police had already been there and finished their business.”
