Woman arrested for locking her kids in a car trunk while shopping at Walmart

A Utah woman has been arrested by police after she allegedly locked her kids in the car trunk while she went shopping at Walmart.

According to a report from Deseret News, the heartless mother was arrested in Riverdale on Thursday.

The Huffington Post confirmed that Tori Castillo, 39, is facing four counts of child abuse.

A good Samaritan who saw her locking the trunk with two kids in it, quickly alerted the police while she was shopping inside the mall.

When police officers arrived the scene, her abused kids aged 5 and 2 were seen kicking and screaming inside the car trunk, causing it to shake noticeably.

Riverdale police Lt. Casey Warren said, police officers who were dispatched to the location “instructed the 5-year-old girl to pull the emergency latch in the trunk to escape.”

Child and Family Services took custody of the kids and has since turned them over to a “responsible party.”

Tori was interrogated on the scene before police whisked her away.
