Few weeks ago, a man named Chen Man from China’s Sichuan Province was released from prison amid tears and hugs from his aged mother. The man had spent 23 years in jail and was released for lack of evidence. He was wrongly convicted for arson and murder.
Chen filed an appeal with a Hainan court for about 10 million yuan compensation. News have it now that the court in south China has accepted his compensation request.
The 53-year-old Chen was arrested in late 1992 and convicted two years later.
His 16-year appeal began since 1999 and luckily for him, justice delayed wasn’t justice denied.
He was finally granted freedom on 2 February, 2016.
What a news! Injustice will never prevail.
