Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to help carry out NIH-funded projects investigating modifiable factors for cognitive aging and dementia. The successful candidate will be under supervisions of Drs. Richard Lipton, M.D. (NIH/NIA AG003949, “Einstein Aging Study”), and Jinshil Hyun, Ph.D. (NIH/NIA R00AG080126, “Neighborhood characteristics, GPS-based activity space, and cognitive health”) and will be involved in these projects. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration and offers extensive opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Management, processing, and analysis of intensive longitudinal data
  • Preparation of high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
  • Presentation of research findings at national and international scientific conferences
  • Active participation in interdisciplinary research groups, including collaboration across epidemiology, psychology, neurology, biostatistics, and public health

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Recent or anticipated PhD (or equivalent degree) in Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, Gerontology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Neurology, or related fields
  • Excellent analytic and data management skills using statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python)
  • Demonstrated strong writing and communication skills
  • Research interest in cognitive aging, and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias

Preferred Qualifications (one or more of the following):

  • Experience in spatial analysis and GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, etc.)
  • Research background in psychosocial and behavioral determinants of cognitive aging and dementia
  • Interest in genetics, neuroimaging, biomarkers of aging and dementia
  • Expertise in handling and analyzing large-scale, intensive datasets (e.g., ecological momentary assessment, passive monitoring technologies)
  • Familiarity with longitudinal modeling techniques or advanced statistical methods
