Here’s a picture that shows what a real police officer looks like.
Almost two years ago, a father was taking his son to rehab in St. Lawrence. But on the way, the son decided he didn’t want to go. He took his father’s phone, called 911, and said he was being kidnapped.
The police stopped the father, and his son got out of the car. That’s when a state trooper intervened. For about an hour, the trooper stood by the side of the road, patiently talking to the young man, convincing him to go to rehab. The father was amazed by the trooper’s concern and dedication to helping people with addiction problems.
In the end, the police didn’t have to use force. Calmly, they helped the young man into their car and personally drove him to St. Lawrence, which was about an hour and a half from Lowville. The officer even accompanied him to the rehabilitation center to make sure he arrived safely.
This is a great recognition of Officer Mike Carpinelli and other public servants like him who truly care and do everything they can to help others. 💙
