Samuel Eto’o: Pep Guardiola is the world’s Best Coach

Samuel Eto’o has argued that his former coach Pep Guardiola is the world’s best gaffer. The Camerounian also offered a piece of advice to his close pal and former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

In his interview with Telefoot, Eto’o said: “Pep has everything to be a success there and, for me, he’s still the best coach in the world.

“He always wants his teams to play and he will impose this idea in England.

“His great strength is that he never changes his ideas. Technically, Pep remains the best. There’s nothing else to be said.”

On Jose Mourinho, the former Inter Milan player said: “He asked for three years to relaunch Manchester United, but you have to get your team playing, you can’t defend continually. Football isn’t like that anymore.”

Though times have changed for Eto’o and Pep, both were said to have had serious problems at Barca in 2011.

A report from El Mundo Deportivo reported at the time that Guardiola clashed with the Cameroon star during a closed-doors training session.

Problem started when Eto’o was instructed to join his teammates for physical exercises, a routine that Pep considers a ritual.

However, the Spaniard demanded more from Eto’o after the player showed signs of laziness, a demand which provoked him into raising an objection.

Surprisingly, Pep handed Eto’o an outright punishment by sending the No. 9 back into Barca’s dressing room.

  1. I agree with Eto’s Fils until someone else proves otherwise. Pep is a great coach and arguably one of the best that ever lived. Those who compares his successes with Jose Mourinho are mistaken.
