Jada Pinkett Smith has confessed that she was a drug dealer in Baltimore, around the time she met Tupac Amaru Shakur.
Pinkett, 45, said in an interview with Sirius XM’s Sway In The Morning on Wednesday that “it’s pretty hard to tell such stories.”
However, the American actress kept fans in suspense with an assurance that details of her dark secrets would be made available in an unpublished book.

“One of the interesting things about me and Tupac which I never told anyone is that when I first met him — when we first met, I was a drug dealer,” said the Gotham star whose appearance on Sirius XM was to promote her new movie “Girls Trip.”
She continued: “I won’t give details of the connection we had ’cause I’ll put it down in a book. A tip of the iceberg is — that’s how we started.”
Pinkett met the California Love rapper on their first day of high school at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
Although both artists shot to limelight in the 90s, she regrets that they were misunderstood as a “pretty young girl” and a “cool guy” who had mutual love and respect for each other. The link they shared was solely about “calming each other’s nerves,” she explained.
“Pac and I’s relationship was about survival,” she said. “That’s how it started. I know that most people want to always connect it in this romance thing and that’s just because they don’t have the story.
“It was about survival and it’s always been about survival between us, you know what I’m saying? And holding each other down in ways that he and I could hold each other down.”
Going further in her revelations, the mother-of-two said it was heartbreaking that they went separate ways along the line because she was getting help on her addiction, while ‘Pac was going into the destructive life.
She also pointed out that her inspiration to quit drugs came after a terrible incident occurred in her life.
“It was God who saved me from going into crimes. I waited and prayed my friend would get the same salvation, but he never did,” Pinkett said.
Her newest flick “Girls Trip” costars Regina Hall and Queen Latifah.

Pinkett is a dancer, singer and author. She shares two kids — Jaden and Willow — with husband Will Smith. Her other name is Jada Koren.
She’s known for her roles in The Matrix Reloaded, Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Europe’s Most Wanted and The Matrix Revolutions, among many other movies in different genres.
The Bad Moms actress met her husband in 1994 on the set of a blockbuster The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She auditioned for Lisa Wilkes, a character for the actor’s girlfriend, but was rejected for being too short. The role was offered to Nia Long.
Despite the initial disappointment, both Smith and Pinkett struck up an acquaintance. They started dating in 1995 and tied the knots in 1997.
Talking about her 2004 novel Girls Hold Up This World, the one-time author said: “The book was written for my daughter Willow, her friends and all the little girls in the world who need affirmation about being female in this pretty much masculine world.
“I really tried to capture different sides of femininity.
“I want girls in the world to feel powerful, to know they have the power to change the world in any way they wish.”
