Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Summer Camp Nurse for the Rutgers Rec Kids Summer Camp Program. The summer camp is a 7-week program that averages around 115 children a week, ranging from 5-11 years of age.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Oversees the health and safety of camper participants and staff.
- Manages online database of camper’s health records.
- Reviews and organizes health and immunization forms provided by camper families.
- Treats injuries and illnesses at camp.
- Acts as a liaison to camp parents, camp staff and health providers.
- Stores, tracks and administers medication to camper participants and staff.
- Maintains and tracks health records including, but not limited to; treatment logs, medication logs and incident reports.
- Processes all medications and supplies related to all off-site trips.
- Chaperones camp day trips as needed.
- Assists with camper check-in and dismissal.
- Assists with other camp administrative duties.
Hours Per Week: 20-40
FLSA: Nonexempt
Position Salary: $26-$31/hr

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical and health care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Up to 2 years + of relevant experience in a medical setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills,.
- Computer literacy.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be available to work a shift between 8am-5:30pm.
