Neymar‘s exit from Barcelona has been a source of speculations in the football world as Paris Saint-Germain remain persistent in their pursuit, having lost chances on Alexis Sanchez and Kylian Mbappe.
The Brazilian star is reportedly staring at a whooping 222 million euros deal.
Despite rumors from Barcelona and its representatives, the Ligue one club side are reportedly waiting on Neymar to give a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer, so the transfer saga could end conclusively.
Les Parisiens said an answer from the talented winger must be clear before the end of next week.
Sporting director Arturo Henrique has reached out to Neymar and his agents on the need for them to either accept their outrageous offer or let them loose.
Meanwhile, another Brazilian who plays for PSG has confirmed that his compatriot is seriously considering a move to France.
Lucas Moura was asked by a concerned Twitter fan about the possibility of Neymar joining PSG, and the footballer replied with a thinking-face emoji to perfectly describe the winger’s transfer situation.
Former Barca player, Dani Alves, who now plays for the French Ligue 1 side, may be the reason behind Neymar’s interest.
However, Gerard Pique claimed on Twitter last Sunday that his Brazilian colleague won’t depart Catalonia any time soon, sparking speculations that an agreement may have been reached to tie the player down in Spain.
Pigue said he’d understand if his teammate wanted to leave out of a desire to have a team built around him.
“It was a personal opinion,” Pique said after posting a picture which quickly went viral on Twitter. “My desire is for him to stay, so I uploaded the photo.
“The one that has to communicate if he stays or not at the end of the day is Neymar.
“Anyway, I would understand if he went to another team if what he wants is to be a leader, since in Barcelona he has coincided with the best ever, Leo Messi.”
Neymar scored a brace in their 2-1 friendly win over Juventus last Saturday.
Barca coach Ernesto Valverde insisted after the win that he’s keeping the Brazilian gem for good.
“We need Neymar to remain with us,” he said.
“Everyone knows his value on the pitch and what he brings to the locker room.”
Italian player Giorgio Chiellini scored a consolation for the UEFA Champions League finalists in front of the 82,104 crowd at MetLife Stadium.

The transfer rumors about Neymar doesn’t make sense for the fact that he signed a new five-year contract until 2021 just last October, with a release clause which is sure to rise annually if he stays.
Neymar, 25, joined Barcelona from his former Brazilian club side Santos in 2013.
“He’s a hugely important player for us, more than just his quality as a soccer player, he has huge value, his personal qualities within the group,” Javier Mascherano, Argentina international footballer and Barca midfielder said.
