Casemiro doesn’t think much of Real Madrid’s new signing Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Sanmi Mbappe joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco after a “deal-in-principle” worth €180 million (£161 million) was agreed upon.

The agreement brought an end to one this summer’s most controversial transfers.

However, Madrid player Casemiro isn’t so excited about the 18-year-old’s move to Spain.

Although PSG and Manchester City are among the top clubs which showed interest in snatching the footballer who’s considered one of Europe’s most coveted young players, Casemiro waved off talks on the youngster’s talents.

Speaking from the United States on Wednesday, ahead of their friendly match against Manchester City in Los Angeles, the midfielder said: “Mbappe is not a Real Madrid player so I can’t speak about him.

“That [potential arrival of Mbappe] is something that people on the outside talk about.”

Casemiro then chose to talk about Madrid’s ferocious front-line Benzema, Bale and Cristiano, rather than discuss what the French international footballer could add.

“We know that he is a great player but BBC also do a lot of damage, we have the best players here already,” he said.

“What else do you want me to say about it? He isn’t a Madrid player but we all know the quality he has, so too does Neymar.

“But we have Ronaldo, who is the best player in the world, and Karim, another man with incredible quality as well as Isco and Borja. I back my teammates until the end.”
