Newcastle considering January signing after Livramento injury; Huddersfield agree deal with Plymouth for Mumba

Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento has been ruled out for eight weeks with a hamstring injury.

The defender had a scan on Monday after coming off against Bournemouth on the weekend, and Newcastle’s worst fears were discovered, meaning he could miss up to 15 games.

Newcastle are now weighing up whether to dip into the transfer market for a defender.

Livramento joins centre-back Fabian Schar on the sidelines, who is out for two to three months.

This will be Livramento’s second spell out this season, having suffered a knee injury back in September.

Huddersfield Town are closing in on the signing of Plymouth Argyle right-back Bali Mumba

It’s understood the clubs have agreed a deal in the region of £1m and Mumba, 24, is due to undergo a medical on Wednesday.
