The Israeli military says it struck several fuel storage complexes used in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
“The military forces of the Iranian terrorist regime make direct and frequent use of these fuel tanks to operate military infrastructure,” it said in a statement.
“Through them, the Iranian terrorist regime distributes fuel to various consumers, including military entities in Iran.”
The IDF says this is a “significant” strike that constitutes “an additional step in deepening the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime”.
“The IDF will continue to operate with determination in order to significantly degrade the regime’s capabilities and remove threats to the State of Israel,” it adds.

US denies Iranian claims several soldiers have been ‘taken prisoner’
Iran’s top security official says he has received reports suggesting several US soldiers “have been taken prisoner”.
Ali Larijani says the Americans “claim they have been killed in action”.
“Despite their futile efforts, the truth is not something they can hide for too long,” he adds.
But the US has denied the claims, with navy captain Tim Hawkins saying no service members have been taken hostage or prisoners by Iran.
More than 3,000 strikes launched by Israel since war began
Israel has launched around 3,400 strikes across Iran since the war started last week, the Israeli military spokesperson has said.
Effie Defrin said more than 150 Iranian air defence systems have been put out of service, and the IDF has also dropped around 7,500 munitions on targets.
The campaign “may continue for some time, but it is necessary,” he added.
