The year 2018 began with great wonders for this wealthy shop owner and two masked men who successfully made away with his prized possession adjudged to be the world’s most expensive vodka bottle valued at a whooping $1.3 million.

The shop owner reported this jaw-dropping, mysterious disappearance to police after the precious Russo Baltique vodka appeared to have been pilfered. He had a good guess, though.

“I had loaned [the bottle] from Russia from something called the Dartz Factory, which makes the world’s most expensive cars and vodka. It has been part of my collection for six months, but not anymore,” the grieving shop owner told TV2 Lorry.

“They apparently had a key or copied a key, and they  rolled up the shutters and unlocked the door, then gone into the bar and broken down the door to the vodka museum in the basement. They then left with only one bottle, even though there are 1,200 bottles they could have taken,” Brian Ingberg told the media outlet.

Police said in a statement that the stolen item counts among Brian Ingberg’s most-prized collection.

The value and price is explained by the fact that three kilograms of gold and the equivalent amount of silver were used to make that one-of-a-kind bottle, which is also reportedly adorned with leather from a 1912 Monte Carlo rally car, police explained.

Fortunately for Brian, the culprits were caught, not by the cops, anyway. They were cited from a CCTV camera located at a strategic point around the location, and their pictures have been shared on social media to assist police with publicity.

Police are working hard to unravel the mystery.

    1. The drink should have had some kind of tracker on it, shouldn’t it? It’s a risk storing such expensive stuff without security. I guess though the owner must have quality insurance on them. Win-win.

    1. Very lucky criminals but I doubt the buyer won’t get caught one day. It’ll only take time. Years will pass before the collector and his family are exposed.

      1. That bottle is worth some good money and I bet it’s cooling off in a collector’s safe right now. May never be found in decades or centuries unless events turn up against the buyer. Funny.
