Position Summary:

Provide football program with day-to-day operational needs including team travel preparation, recruiting needs, and all other duties as assigned. Monitor student-athlete wellness and provide daily support of football student-athletes.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate all travel plans for team trips, including accommodations, charters, bus transportation, meals, rooming lists, ID procedures for team and staff, baggage coordination and check in procedures for all.
  • Oversee, plan, and balance all aspects of the football budget, FBS Budget, and SIG foundation account. Work with events/facilities staff for scheduling practices, games and other events.
  • Liaison with housing/dining services for pre season housing and meals. Liaison on game days with communications, coaching staff, facilities, recruits. Keep updated player information/phone numbers/email addresses.
  • Coordinate player pass lists for compliance personnel on game days.
  • Liaison with academic support staff, including study hall checks, eligibility reports, etc. Monitor the health and wellness of football student-athletes.
  • Coordinate officials for scrimmages. Mentor for incoming freshman players. Liaison with sports performance staff.
  • Oversee all Football video operations throughout the year.
  • Provide additional support to other Operations staff members and the entire athletic department.

Will be responsible for the coordination of transporting team to all away games, coordinating bus companies, charter airline, hotel arrangements, group meals, rooming lists, menus, and airport arrangements. Must be able to multi task and be creative when weather is a factor or buses don’t show. DOFO must be able to think on his/her feet, to solve problems and communicate with all parties concerned to safely transport team and staff – approximately 120 travelers.

DOFO must communicate with all athletic department staff (coaches, equipment managers, facility director, marketing personnel, sports information personnel, training room staff, strength and conditioning staff, business office personnel, compliance officers, academic success staff, assistant and associate athletic directors, athletic director) on a regular basis, to plan practices, events and certainly game day activities. Also must communicate with other university departments (housing, dining, admissions, financial aid, etc.) for issues concerning football student athletes.

DOFO must be able to communicate with many different vendors including airline personnel, hotel managers, catering managers, bus companies, bus drivers, travel agents, rental car companies – in planning and executing successful travel plans for the team, coaches, and staff. DOFO must also communicate with recruits and parents on game days, reflecting athletic department missions and goals to graduate successful athletes.

DOFO will manage football team travel budget, ensuring that state funds are being spent properly for the safety and welfare of the student athletes. DOFO must follow all state and university rules and practices for purchasing and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree and experience as a graduate assistant in the football department or other football related experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
