Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt: A Tale Of Hollywood’s Messiest Divorce.

With Angelina Jolie‘s lawyer confirming the actress is splitting from husband Brad Pitt, Hollywood is set for the messiest celebrity divorce in history. The once glamorous couple, also one of the industry’s wealthiest, will lose about $400 million worth of assets they brought into the marriage, according to their prenup agreement.

CBS News quotes Robert Offer [Angelina’s lawyer] as saying in a statement provided by Reuters: “This decision was made for the health of the family. She  will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”

The couple called it quits on 15 September, 2015 after their August 2015 wedding but their lawyers are working out divorce settlements. Brangelina got together 11 years ago before featuring in the blockbuster action movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”.

According to a TMZ report, Brangelina’s divorce was put in motion due to an alleged conflict over their kids, “lack of self-control” and drug abuse.

Though the couple cited “irreconcilable difference” as the reason for their separation, reports say she isn’t asking for “spousal support”.

“If Brad gets too serious with another woman while they are married,” RadarOnline quotes a source as saying, “she’ll get primary custody if they split.”

There are speculations that Angelina may have agreed to citing “irreconcilable differences” in order not only to save their image as a couple but to get full custody of their children in return.

Angelina, 41, is reportedly asking the court to grant Pitt visitation rights.

GoBankingRates quotes Pitt’s wealth as around $240 million while Angelina stands at a $160 million net worth. The fact that Brangelina tied the knots as wealthy celebrities, makes their divorce quite easy in terms of having a guaranteed trust fund for their six kids.

Apart from the child support issue already taken care of, the couple’s prenup will also be used for a smooth divorce process with attorney fees readily available.

Talking about their recent movie titled “By The Sea”, the famous actor was quoted in an interview report from The Telegraph: “It’s very subtle and European in its cadence, and its palette,” Pitt says. “Which is really surprising, because neither one of us is well versed in that. There are no explosions, no earth-shifting events, no big, shocking tales. The whole movie takes place in a cafe, a hotel room and a car. That’s it. I mean, it doesn’t get much more sparse. It’s very quiet, but elegant – it’s such an elegant film.

“It’s really about a couple,” he continues, “who are in that stage in life that the old fairy-tale books don’t explain – when the romance has dulled, the banality of the everyday has become the constant and, as all people do in their life, they’re facing grief.”

Pitt continues with the interview dated November 2015, speaking in a voice and mood that seemed to be a reflection of his marriage to Angelina. He admitted having a rocky relationship with the actress but added they’ve fought hard to keep the love glowing.

In his words: “Certainly the attrition rate of Hollywood couples looms large.

“And I’m surprised how much our history – Angie’s and mine – means to me. That we have this story together. That we know each other. That we watch each other getting older, through amazing moments, joys, pains.”

The repeattition in his phrase about “how much she means to him” highlighted the closeness they shared. He adds: …”That we know each other. It means so much to me.

“I don’t know. I’m just surprised, because you hear people talking about the old ball and chain, and people trying to recapture youth, as if that’s the impulse – but it’s not the impulse, it’s not the impulse at all.”

No doubts, Brangelina’s divorce will mark the last of Hollywood’s best marriages.

New York Post describes the split as a mixture of pain and gain for tabloids around the world with millions of comments already registered on the hashtag #Brangelina.

Yes, the couple weren’t just one of the wealthiest or most glamorous, they have history, too.

Nearly everything about Jolie and Pitt’s romance was old-school: They met on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2004. By 2005, Pitt left his then-wife Jennifer Aniston — America’s wholesome “Friend” — for Jolie, who had a wild reputation as a bisexual ex-junkie who’d been married twice before, wore one husband’s blood in a vial, and teased an incestuous relationship with her brother…The New York Post
