Irobiko Chimezie is a professional civil engineer with over 7 years’ experience in the field. He holds Entrepreneurship and Customer Service certificates from UNDP and Management Institute of Ethiopia respectively.

Chimezie graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, in 2004 and has been at a frontline position in the fast-growing technology industry. He is searching for a career opportunity as a react-developer while studying full stack web development at George Washington University Coding Bootcamp, Washington D.C., USA.

His career-change from Civil Engineering to Web Development was necessitated by a natural inclination for technology since childhood. Chimezie’s initial academic goal was to become a computer engineer but through life’s uncertain circumstances, he graduated with good grades in civil engineering and holds no regrets for the choice. Nonetheless, his perseverance, commitment, enthusiasm, confidence, and self-motivation are evident in his resolve to acquire advanced knowledge in Web Development after working for about 7 years as a site engineer and project manager in different construction sites.

He oversees a small-scale construction company and has completed several projects through the self-owned engineering firm.

In 2016, he withdrew from an active management position to actualize his dreams of a fruitful career in web development. He exhibited his characteristic dynamic nature by self-studying programming languages such as JavaScript, C+ and other tools like HTML and CCS. Chimezie’s long-term goal is to become a professional in the field and gain employment in a progressive organization where his skills and experience will be utilized for individual, group and organizational growth.

The professional engineer is a purposeful and vibrant leader who understands the rudiments of management; his ultimate life goal is to impact meaningfully in the life of everyone around him. He is a problem-solver, team-player and an influencer, a reason he enjoys working in an open work space.

Although he prefers employment opportunities from companies in the D.C. area, he is open to offers in other cities around the states. His salary expectations fall between the range of $80,000 to $120,000 per annum.
