Car-ramming attack near IDF base in northern Israel
A man has carried out a car-ramming attack near a military base in northern Israel, according to IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari.
“A short time ago, a terrorist carried out a drive-by attack near an IDF base in northern Israel,” he said in a post online.
“After that, the terrorist got out of the vehicle and tried to hit the IDF soldiers with an axe.”
An officer then “neutralised” the suspect, police said.
A 20-year-old man, believed to be a soldier, was seriously injured in the attack.
“When we arrived on scene we found the casualty conscious, lying by a wall, with serious lower limb injuries,” a paramedic said.
There are no further details given about the suspect, his motives or where he was from.
