Sunak’s advice to Iran

Sunak calls on Iran to de-escalate tensions

Rishi Sunak has called on Iran to de-escalate tensions after a suspected Tehran-backed proxy group strike on a US base in Jordan.

A drone “packed with explosives” hit Tower 22 in northeast Jordan, killing three US personnel.

“We are concerned and would urge Iran to continue to de-escalate tensions in the region,” Mr Sunak said when asked about the strike yesterday.

“We stand resolutely with our allies to bring stability and peace to the region and that’s what we’ll continue to work towards.”
