If you love Beyonce, there’s a great chance you’d be thankful to Fairview Entertainments and Walt Disney Pictures when the Lion King Remake hits the stands in 2019.
Beyonce Knowles-Carter has reportedly joined the cast, and will feature as “Nala” in the live-action epic musical drama. The movie was written by Jeff Nathanson and produced by Jon Favreau.
Walt Disney Studios confirmed the main cast on Wednesday and as long expected, The Formation singer was included.
A Twitter post from Rogen captioned “Hakuna Matata” revealed the list of actors.
Jon Favreau, the genius behind Disney’s CG and live-action adaptation of “” is expected to come up with another blockbuster this time.
The Lion King first appeared on the screens in 1994.
Following Disney’s recent box office successes with films such as Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book, the upcoming flick will feature songs from the original 1994 movie.

Don Glover and James Earl Jones were earlier announced as Simba and Mufasa respectively. Other popular stars include: Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon) and Keegan-Michael Key (Kamari).
On 30 March, 2017 Variety reported that Beyonce was the director’s first choice for Nala. Jon said at the time that he and Disney Studio would patiently do whatever it takes to accommodate the popular singer’s busy schedule.
