Beyonce’s twins, a boy and a girl, were reportedly born prematurely, and the former Destiny’s Child star is still in hospital with the newborn babies, reports confirm.
A report from TMZ confirmed the 35-year-old gave birth to her adorable twins on Monday, stressing that she had medical emergencies.
They’re “under the lights,” TMZ confirmed — a reason Bey has remained in hospital for over a week now.
Reports say the bundles of joy may have suffered jaundice, which isn’t dangerous and not a disease per se, but rather a visible sign of an underlying disease process. Nonetheless, there’s no cause for alarm.
“Our sources say the babies are ‘under the lights,'” the news outlet reported.
“They would not be more specific, but that often means the babies have jaundice because of elevated bilirubin levels. The lights are designed to lower bilirubin in the blood to eliminate the jaundice.”
Jay-Z, 47, has reportedly been around his wife and the newborn babies nearly round the clock.
For the first time time since welcoming his twins, the rapper was seen in West Hollywood on Monday as he arrived at a complex which houses a Soul Cycle gym. His visit was to keep up with the physical demands of running the family while Bey’s grounded at the hospital.
Beyonce first announced her pregnancy in February.
“We would like to share our love and happiness,” she wrote in a Twitter post at that time. “We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”
