Everyone in the Manchester United squad wanted Casemiro to stay at Old Trafford, according to Leny Yoro.
The 34-year-old has announced he is leaving at the end of the season when his contract ends.
Casemiro scored in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa and Old Trafford chanted for him to stay one more year.
United had the option to trigger an additional 12 months in the midfielder’s deal but it was agreed for the Brazil international to go and a U-turn is not expected.
“Everyone wanted him to stay, he’s a really important player for us, he showed it again today,” Yoro said.
“Even in the dressing room, every day, he has the experience that no one else has in the team. He won everything, so this helped us a lot in the games and even outside the pitch.”
