Who’s Arsenal’s Player of the Year?

Arsenal fans aren’t smiling as the once dreadful team failed to win the Premier League title. It hurts so bad mostly because the club, as of New Year’s Day, was leading the chart. How the mighty falls.

While supporters keeping their hopes alive for the coming season, finishing among the top four will be a goal that must be achieved.

It is true that sometimes, a very good player may retrogress in his career if team-mates aren’t focused and hardworking. Mesut Ozil has suffered this fate as well as Alexis Sanchez but let’s worry more about the former who has been Arsenal’s best player this season as far as the stats are concerned.

The German international has broken the Premier League record for most chances created.

According to Soccerisma, “If Arsenal strikers were clinical enough in the second half of the season, Ozil could have broken Henry’s PL assist (20) record by now but sadly that is not the case. The World Cup winner provided 16 assists in the first half of the season.

Since the turn of the year, he has only added two more assists. Over all, he has created 141 chances and only 18 of them have been converted by his team mates.

In the Infographic provided above shows how wonderfully well this German player has performed.

Mesut Ozil has therefore been crowned, Arsenal’s Player of the Year.
