Whoopi Goldberg: Why my pictures won’t be on magazine covers anymore

Whoopi Goldberg has made it clear that she’ll no longer grace magazine covers.

According to Page Six, Whoopi explained her reasons for the decision, saying: “I have been around for 35 years, and I have been on a lot of covers, and there is not anything that I haven’t thought about that I wanted to do that I have not done.

“The truth of that matter is . . . that I am kinda old,” she added.

Reacting to Leslie Jones, who appeared on the Elle’s magazine cover last June, the 60-year-old admits it was an expected breakthrough.

In her words: “I did my first show on Broadway and I did my whole piece on a little girl who wanted to be white because there was no one on the covers of magazines that looked like her, so things have progressed.

“When I saw Leslie on the cover of Elle, I thought what took so long?!”

Whoopi proved earlier in April that her statement on the benefits of medical cannabis was “no joke”. The celebrity partnered with Maya Elizabeth to form Whoopi & Maya, a line of cannabis products that provide menstrual relief.

She told Vanity Fair: “For me, I feel like if you don’t want to get high, high, this is a product specifically just to get rid of discomfort.

“Smoking a joint is fine, but most people can’t smoke a joint and go to work. This, you can put it in your purse,” she added.

“You can put the rub on your lower stomach and lower back at work, and then when you get home you can get in the tub for a soak or make tea, and it allows you to continue to work throughout the day.”
