TRANSFER RUMOURS: Nuno Mendes, Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘players to watch’ in January 2025

Manchester United target Nuno Mendes’ future is “one to watch in the next weeks”, according to Sky in Germany.

Reporter Florian Plettenberg reported earlier in December that PSG want to extend his deal beyond 2026, but that the 22-year-old left-back is considering his options amid interest from around Europe.

And he now says that United’s interest in Mendes is a topic to watch during the January transfer window.

Real growing in confidence Trent will join’

Real Madrid are growingly increasingly convinced Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will join them on a free transfer this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at the end of the season and reports in Spain on Saturday claimed that the 26-year-old has informed Liverpool he wants to play for Real Madrid.

The England international will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the Spanish champions from January because of his contract being up in the summer.

‘Branthwaite open to signing new deal despite Eveton stalling over talks’

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is open to signing a new deal at the club following the Friedkin Group takeover at Goodison Park, according to the Daily Mail

However, it is suggested that the Toffees are yet to open talks over a new contract ahead of the January window amid concerns about whether they can afford to make him one of their top earners.

Branthwaite, who had a reported offer from Manchester United in the summer, has two years remaining on his current deal but it is said fresh terms to match offers from interested parties would massively impact Everton’s wage structure.
