Wolves boss Vitor Pereira hopes that Matheus Cunha will stay with the club – but admits the forward could get “opportunities” to move away from Molineux in the future.
Cunha got a goal and an assist against Manchester United in Wolves’ 2-0 win over Ruben Amorim’s side on Boxing Day – to make it 14 goal involvements in 18 matches this season.
Before the game, newspaper reports linked Cunha with a January move to Arsenal.
“I hope that he stays with us for a long time but I understand that a special player will have opportunities for sure in his career,” said the Portuguese boss of Cunha.
“He’s not only a special technical player, he’s also got the personality.
“This kind of player is special because he can take the ball in the moment of pressure and make magic from nothing. This is magic, this is what he did today.”
