Mevlut Mert Altintas murdered Andrei Karlov, the Russian ambassador to Turkey who once served his country in North Korea, and his death is said to be inspired by “terrorism”.

However, Russian officials believe the aim was to spark a war between the two countries.
Altintas was born in 1994 in Aydın, Söke, Turkey. He was a special forces police officer in Turkish capital city of Ankara. Media reports have now revealed that he was fired from the force for his alleged involvement in the July 15, 2016 coup in Turkey.
The off duty police officer shouted “Don’t forget Syria! Don’t forget Aleppo,” before firing at the Russian ambassador though he later died in a gunfight that followed.
Best Gore, a website which provides extremely graphic pictures and videos, recalls that “his killing of ambassador Karlov is too reminiscent of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Bosnia, Serbia, that began World War I.”
