This is a rosy salt lake in Yuncheng, north China’s Shanxi province.

The color of the ancient salt lake suddenly turned to rose pink which attracted many local residents to visit the area.

Reports say the change in color came as a result of the mineral substances evaporating as the temperature rises.

Algae known as dunaliella salinas at the lake has also turned red.
