The legal age for marriage in China is 22 for men and 20 for women, which means they’ll have to wait another six years before they can be legally married in the eyes of the law.
The “groom”, called Zhang, and the “bride”, surname Wu, are both from southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The boy quit his high school studies in Year Two and has been working in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi; and his partner, Wu, also dropped out of school last year. They found love as teens and couldn’t wait to grow into adults before walking down the aisle.
Zhang said online that he didn’t regret leaving school at such a young age and said that they “love each other truly.”
Would you agree to such marriage if you were a parent?
