LONDON, July 14, 2026 — The Rolling Stones are on course to secure another major chart achievement as their latest studio album, “Foreign Tongues,” moves closer to the top position on the UK Official Albums Chart.
The legendary rock band’s 25th studio album is currently leading the race for Number One, a milestone that could give Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood their 15th chart-topping album in the United Kingdom.
If successful, the achievement would come more than six decades after the group first reached the top of the charts with their self-titled debut album in 1964, highlighting the extraordinary longevity of one of rock music’s most influential acts.
“Foreign Tongues” follows the success of the band’s Grammy Award-winning 2023 album “Hackney Diamonds,” continuing a late-career creative revival that has introduced the Rolling Stones to new generations of listeners while maintaining their traditional blues and rock foundations.
The album features 14 tracks and includes collaborations with several celebrated musicians, including Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure, Steve Winwood and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The project also includes contributions connected to the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts.
The release has generated significant excitement among fans, with the band building anticipation through a global promotional campaign featuring mysterious billboards and references to the album title in different languages.
The Stones’ latest record continues to showcase the group’s ability to remain commercially successful despite their decades-long career. Critics have praised the album for combining the band’s classic rock identity with fresh energy and ambitious collaborations.
Frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Ronnie Wood have also expressed enthusiasm about returning to the stage to support the new material, suggesting that further live performances could follow the album’s release.
The band’s continued success comes as many of their original contemporaries have retired from recording or touring. However, the Rolling Stones have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to adapt while preserving the sound that made them global icons.
Keith Richards has previously spoken about the long creative process behind some of the band’s most enduring songs, comparing the development of certain tracks to the way fine wine improves with time.
With “Foreign Tongues” competing for the UK’s top album position, the Rolling Stones are once again proving their remarkable staying power in the music industry.
More than 60 years after their first chart success, the band remains one of the world’s biggest musical forces, continuing to attract loyal fans while reaching new audiences through fresh recordings and live performances.
