The British music icon, 81, was forced to postpone his concert at Fallsview Casino Resort after a mechanical fault with the aircraft’s landing gear grounded the plane he was due to travel on. The show was part of his final large-scale global arena tour, One Last Time—which makes the cancellation sting even more for fans who wanted to catch him one last time.
Rod took to his Instagram Stories to break the news, sharing a statement that read: “Due to a mechanical fault with the aircraft’s landing gear, Rod Stewart is regretfully unable to travel to Niagara Falls and must postpone tonight’s performance at Fallsview Casino Resort”.
The post added that Rod is “deeply disappointed and apologises to fans for the inconvenience”. The show has been rescheduled to March 4, 2027, and tickets will be honoured for the new date. Rod “promises to make it up to his fans”.
Déjà Vu? This Isn’t His First Cancellation
If this feels familiar, that’s because it is.
Just weeks ago, Rod pulled out of a performance at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista in June after being diagnosed with an acute upper respiratory infection that resulted in laryngitis.
But here’s where it gets awkward: he was spotted at a World Cup match just hours later.
The Maggie May rocker later acknowledged on talkSPORT that he shouldn’t have gone to the game, admitting: “It wasn’t a good look, I admit, but I’m going to have to just take the stick”. He also cancelled two shows in May while recovering from a sinus infection.
