Earlier today, we told you that the National Lottery was looking for a lucky ticket holder who only had until tomorrow to claim their £1m prize.
Well, we’ve had some good news – they have come forward with just hours to go.
The ticket-holder from South Gloucestershire matched five of the six main numbers – 17, 18, 31, 36, 39, 51 and the Bonus Ball number 29 – to scoop the prize.
Andy Carter, senior winners adviser at lottery operator Allwyn, said it’s unusual for prizes to go unclaimed, but players coming forward “in this final hour is even more rare”.
“Wow, this is truly incredible. To receive a claim for this life-changing £1 million Lotto prize in the final hours before the final deadline is absolutely extraordinary,” he said.
The identity of the lucky winner is currently unknown, but once their ticket has been validated and paid, they will decide whether or not to go public and share their news.
