Pirlo Reveals Juventus Are Still Laughing at Manchester United Over Paul Pogba

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho made Paul Pogba the most expensive player in football history just four years after he left Old Trafford to Juventus, and the world’s “best midfielder” has revealed how hilarious the drama seems.

Pirlo says Juventus are still laughing over the reality that they bought Pogba for nothing and made millions in return, after four years of good service to The Old Lady.

During his years in Italy, the newest United star won four Serie A titles with Juve as well as an award at the 2014 World Cup–Best Young Player.

Pogba joined Juve as “a raw material” for only £800,000 decided by an FA tribunal but it took a four-year tutorship under the midfield maestro, and United hurriedly resigned the Frenchman for a world record fee of £89million.

Pirlo and his teammates are asking how Manchester United could have been so blind not to see Pogba’s talent in training, and why they would let him go if they knew he had such an amazing future. It’s sort of strange. A question Sir Alex Ferguson will answer better.

Andrea Pirlo spoke with the Telegraph, saying: “On the first training session Pogba had with Juventus the players were laughing.

“We were not laughing for any other reason than we were just in total disbelief that this player with so much obvious ability was able to leave the club the size of Manchester United for free – and I think Juventus are still laughing.

“I will always remember that first day he trained at Juventus. He was only young but we could see he was special.

“We were walking back to the dressing room after the session and I can clearly remember Gianluigi Buffon coming up to me laughing and he just said: ‘Did they really let him go for free?'”
