In a world where “online betting” has become a way of life for many people, Taylor Swift, 26, and hubby Tom Hiddleston, 35, should better buckle up for the worst as there are people out here–a lot of them–wishing their relationship would crash too soon.
Some alleged fraudsters who believe Taylor Swift’s new found romance with Tom Hiddleston won’t last, had set up an online betting business on one of China’s most popular e-commerce websites–taobao.com
People in China have recently visited the website in large numbers, betting on the celeb relationship #Hiddleswift with huge amounts of money.
Stocks in China have depreciated in value over the years, so betting seem to be another good investment for many. Those who think they know Swift’s love life too well, and probably Hiddleston’s, strongly speculate they can’t survive one year of tribulations.
The alleged fraudulent betting company used “Hiddleswift Breakup Insurance” as the profile name.
Sad news for those who have invested money in the dream project, as the government of China has closed down the Taobao betting page on suspicion of illegal fund collection.
The item, which was allegedly selling well before its removal, cost only 1 yuan (0.15 USD) and promised to double customers’ bet money if Swift broke up with Hiddleston within one year.
Taobao executives suspect that it could be a case of fraudulent fundraising, and on government’s instructions, the item has been removed from Taobao, along with several other suspicious products.
As at this moment, no results can be found on Taobao for “Hiddleswift breakup insurance”.

Meanwhile, reports confirm Swift is currently living her own love story with Tom who a source described as, “so romantic, classic and chivalrous, and he’s doing everything right.”
The famous singer has been to England, Italy, and Australia with the 35-year-old handsome Brit who hasn’t yet proposed. However, a source close to Tom confirmed with US Magazine that “Tom is planning to propose very soon”.
Another source close to Swift hinted that if the prince charming ever makes a proposal to the 10-time Grammy winner, she has her answer prepared: “She would definitely say yes.”
The media believes Swift and Tom aren’t actually in love but had to stick together following the 26-year-old’s surprise split from ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris.
It took only a few weeks after their breakup and the singer was photographed kissing Tom Hiddleston. This is one of the reasons why many believe they won’t make any difference as a couple.
Notwithstanding, the actor, who was recently nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in AMC’s “The Night Manager,” said that despite their relationship moving quickly — and being very much in the public eye — he’s involved in a real relationship with the singer.
He said: “Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”
