In response to the European Union’s recently adopted Digital Services Act (DSA), which outlines regulations aimed at curbing the dissemination of harmful content and restricting certain user-targeting methods, Elon Musk, proprietor of X (formerly known as Twitter), is mulling over the possibility of withdrawing the service from Europe.
Alternatively, he is considering blocking European Union users from accessing the platform, as disclosed by an individual familiar with the matter to the news outlet Insider.
The DSA, enacted by the European Union in August, introduces a comprehensive framework that addresses various aspects of Internet platform operations, including measures to combat harmful content, restrictions on specific user-targeting practices, and sharing internal data with regulatory authorities and affiliated researchers.
As of now, X has yet to respond to requests for a comment on this matter.
