Five other deputy ministers were also let go by the Ukrainian government, and their names have just been published by parliament official Taras Melnychuk.

He named them as:

  • Denis Oleksandrovich Sharapov – deputy defence minister
  • Shevchenko Andrii Vitaliyovych – deputy minister of defence of Ukraine for European integration

He also said Kostiantyn Vashchenkom, the state secretary of the defence ministry has been dismissed.

The government has not given a reason for its decisions, but the changes have been made after Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Rustem Umerov to replace Oleksii Reznikov as defence minister earlier this month.

Deputy defence minister dismissed by Ukrainian government – along with five other officials

Ukraine’s deputy defence minister Hanna Maliar has been dismissed from her post, along with five other officials, the country’s government has confirmed.

Ms Maliar has been a prominent figure throughout the war, posting daily updates on the country’s progress on the ground.

While the other five officials have not been named yet, they have been identified as other deputy ministers.

The government has not given a reason for her dismissal.

However, it has come after Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Rustem Umerov as the country’s new defence minister earlier this month.
