Israel’s military claims to have killed another Hamas commander in an airstrike overnight.
The IDF said Madhath Mubashar, commander of the western Khan Yunis battalion, was targeted using military and security services intelligence.
It said Mubashar had taken part in “explosives and sniper attacks against Israeli civilian communities and IDF soldiers”.
Some 250 “terror targets” were struck by Israeli forces in the past day, the IDF said, posting a video of the overnight strikes to X.
Six lorries carrying medical and water purification supplies arrive in Gaza
Ten experts from the Red Cross have arrived in Gaza alongside six lorries carrying medical material and water purification supplies, the organisation said.
It said the arrival of humanitarian workers – including a war surgery team and weapons contamination specialist – will increase its capacity to “deliver life-saving trauma surgery” and assist people in need of clean drinking water.
“This crucial humanitarian assistance is a small dose of relief, but it’s not enough,” regional director Fabrizio Carboni said.
“Our surgical team and medical supplies will help relieve the extreme pressure on Gaza’s doctors and nurses. But safe, sustained humanitarian access is urgently needed.”
The new medical material includes kits which can treat between 1,000 and 5,000 people, the ICRC said, while it has sent in chlorine tablets that can treat 50,000 litres of water.
