A number of gunmen, believed to belong to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group, attended the funeral of 25-year-old Aysar al Amer.
Mr al Amer was a PIJ commander, and was killed alongside 19-year-old Jawad Turki and one other person during an Israeli raid into the flashpoint Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.
The Israeli military said it conducted the wide-ranging arrest operation across the West Bank and responded with live fire when assailants hurled explosive devices and shot at troops in the Jenin refugee camp.

US issues second round of sanctions on Hamas
The US has imposed a second round of sanctions on Hamas-linked officials and financial networks.
A statement from the Treasury department said the action targets “additional assets in Hamas’s investment portfolio”, as well as individuals facilitating sanctions evasion for companies linked with the militant group.
A Gaza-based entity that the Treasury said has served as a conduit for illicit Iranian funds to Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group was also targeted. Iran backs Hamas and other militias in the Middle East.
Deputy Treasury secretary Wally Adeyemo said the action “underscores the US’s commitment to dismantling Hamas’s funding networks”.
He said the department wouldn’t hesitate to take action “to further degrade Hamas’s ability to commit horrific terrorist attacks”.
