Demand remains unstoppable as fans rush to secure their place at Worthy Farm
Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 sold out in a staggering 42 minutes on Sunday morning, once again proving that the legendary Somerset event remains the most sought-after ticket in live music — even as prices hit an all-time high.
Thousands of hopeful festival-goers joined the online queue from 9am BST to battle for a chance to attend the festival, which will take place at Worthy Farm from 23 to 27 June 2027. The 2026 edition will be a fallow year, making the 2027 event the next opportunity for fans to experience the iconic festival.
Ticket Prices Break the £400 Barrier
Organisers had already confirmed that a standard weekend ticket for 2027 would cost £408, including a £5 booking fee — an increase of £29.50 on the 2025 price. It marks the first time in Glastonbury’s history that a ticket has exceeded the £400 mark.
The price has climbed steadily over the years, rising from £185 in 2010 to £408 for 2027. The steepest increases have come since the pandemic, with tickets jumping from £318 in 2019 to the current figure.
A Record-Breaking Morning
The festival confirmed the sell-out on Instagram, writing: “Thank you to everyone who managed to get tickets, and sorry to those who missed out — it was a morning of unprecedented demand.”
Coach and ticket packages had already sold out earlier in the week, disappearing in under half an hour on Thursday. This year’s sale introduced a new system requiring fans to enter their registration numbers before joining the virtual queue — a change designed to close a loophole that previously allowed people to gain extra queue positions by using multiple browsers.
Winners and Losers
Among the lucky few were Nick and Helen Nugget from Amersham, who first met at Glastonbury in 2007. The couple plan to return with the same group of friends they met twenty years ago to celebrate their upcoming 20th wedding anniversary.
Not everyone was so fortunate. Mat Chapman and his daughter Amy missed out once again — their 20th consecutive year of trying — on what also happened to be Amy’s 26th birthday.
On social media, some fans complained about the anxiety-inducing queue system, with one describing “two green progress bars that didn’t move for 45 minutes.” Others praised the new system as fairer, noting that registration numbers hold a place in the queue even if users switch devices.
Line-Up Still Under Wraps — But Oasis Rumours Shut Down
No headline acts have been announced for 2027 yet. Organiser Emily Eavis has said the team is “very excited” and that preparations are “coming along nicely.”
Rumours that Oasis might headline — fuelled by a gap in their 2027 tour schedule on the festival’s closing night of 27 June — were quickly dismissed by Eavis, who took to social media to confirm that the Britpop giants will not be appearing at Worthy Farm.
Second Chance in the Spring
For those who missed out, organisers have confirmed that cancelled or returned tickets will be resold in a resale scheduled for spring 2027. Fans can also try volunteering with organisations such as WaterAid, Oxfam, and Greenpeace, or apply to run food stalls and merchandise stands at the festival.
