Naftali Bennett has taken a swipe at the Israeli government, accusing it of making a “serious moral and practical error”.
In a post on X, the former prime minister hit out at the Israeli government’s work with Qatar, which has aimed to free hostages.
“Qatar is the enemy itself. Qatar finances, assists and strengthens the terrorist organisation Hamas-Daesh,” he wrote.
He accused Qatar of trying to “save” Hamas and of being its “chief sponsor”.
Qatar, which has ambitious foreign policy goals, has a direct line of communication with Hamas and Israel and has previously helped mediate truces between the two.
