Luis Suarez has argued that Real Madrid were lucky to escape Camp Nou with a 1-1 draw, adding that his side dominated the clasico game which surprisingly ended with a shocking result.
In 13 games, Barca have lost twice and drawn three as Lionel Messi struggles with his magical goal scoring form.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid extended their lead with a 6-point gap as La Liga kings.
Following a Luis Suarez goal at the 53rd minute, and an equalizer from Sergio Ramos right on the clock (90′), Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hailed Zinedine Zidane’s team for walking right into Catalonia and grabbing a draw.
However, Suarez thinks Madrid were the lucky side, accepting the fact that “these things do happen in football”.
The Uruguayan legend spoke with reporters in a post-match interview, saying: “We were superior and created many chances, but these things happen in football.
“If you don’t take one to close the match for 2-0, it can happen.
“We dropped two points. The team did everything possible to get all three, but I repeat that these things happen in football.
“The game was open and they drew with us in the last minute.
“We have to be strong at home, it’s something we already know. We must keep going forward and hope Real Madrid drop points.”
