The Hollywood Historic Trust has replaced the country legend’s worn-out star, originally installed in 1984, with a gleaming new one.

Dolly Parton has received a fresh star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — quite literally.

The Hollywood Historic Trust has replaced the country music icon’s original star, which was installed back in 1984, with a brand-new one after decades of wear and tear took their toll on the original.

According to a CNN report, the worn-out star was swapped out for a shiny replacement in a ceremony befitting one of music’s most beloved figures. The video segment, reported by David Daniel, shows how the trust carried out the replacement.

Parton’s original star was dedicated more than four decades ago, and in the years since, millions of fans have walked over it — not to mention the relentless California sun and weather. The result was a star that had lost its luster, prompting the Hollywood Historic Trust to step in and give it a much-deserved refresh.

The new star ensures that Parton’s place on the famed Hollywood Boulevard remains as vibrant as her career, which has spanned more than six decades and counting.

Parton, 80, remains one of the most celebrated entertainers in American history, with a résumé that includes countless hit records, acclaimed acting roles, and philanthropy — most notably her Imagination Library, which mails free books to children around the world.

Her star is located among the more than 2,700 others that line the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which was established in 1960 as a tribute to achievements in the entertainment industry.

For fans making the pilgrimage to Hollywood, Parton’s star — now gleaming once again — remains a popular stop and a fitting tribute to a performer whose appeal has never dimmed.
