Days of Our Lives Actor Robert Kelker-Kelly Dies at 62

Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor best known for portraying Bo Brady on the long-running daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 62.

The actor died on October 3 in Missouri, according to information from the state’s medical examiner obtained by TMZ. His cause of death has not been disclosed.

Kelker-Kelly was a familiar face to daytime television audiences, particularly during his time on Days of Our Lives, where he played one of the show’s prominent characters during the 1990s.

Robert Kelker-Kelly’s Acting Career

Kelker-Kelly began his professional acting career in 1987 when he joined Another World, playing the character Sam Fowler.

He later moved to Days of Our Lives in 1992, taking over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell. Kelker-Kelly remained with the NBC soap until 1995, when Reckell returned to the role.

During his time on the series, Kelker-Kelly’s character was involved in major storylines alongside Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed.

His portrayal of Bo Brady helped establish him as a recognizable figure among daytime television viewers, and he went on to appear in another major soap opera, General Hospital.

On General Hospital, Kelker-Kelly portrayed Stavros Cassadine. He eventually stepped away from regular acting and later worked as a professional pilot.

Role as Bo Brady

Bo Brady was one of the major characters in Days of Our Lives, and Kelker-Kelly inherited the role during an important period in the soap’s history.

His storyline included a relationship with Billie Reed, played by Lisa Rinna, as well as his connection with Hope Brady, portrayed by Kristian Alfonso.

Kelker-Kelly’s time on the show ended in 1995 when Peter Reckell returned to the role of Bo Brady.

The actor subsequently continued his television career with appearances on General Hospital, but his performance as Bo remained his most recognizable role.

Lisa Rinna Discussed Their Difficult Relationship

Kelker-Kelly’s name returned to the spotlight earlier in 2026 after Lisa Rinna discussed their relationship while working together on Days of Our Lives in her memoir.

Rinna alleged that Kelker-Kelly had been verbally abusive, manipulative and prone to playing mind games during their time on the soap opera. She also described their professional relationship as deeply contentious.

Rinna further claimed that his departure from Days of Our Lives led NBC to provide security for her and Kristian Alfonso for several weeks.

Kelker-Kelly did not publicly respond to Rinna’s allegations.

Despite the reported tensions away from the cameras, the two actors’ characters were involved in major storylines on the show, making their on-screen partnership an important part of Kelker-Kelly’s time on the series.

A Career Beyond Daytime Television

Although Kelker-Kelly became widely recognized for his work in daytime television, his career extended beyond Days of Our Lives.

His first major television role came on Another World, while his later appearance as Stavros Cassadine on General Hospital gave him another connection to the world of American soap operas.

After leaving acting, he reportedly pursued a career as a professional pilot.

Kelker-Kelly’s death brings an end to a career that spanned several decades and included roles on some of America’s best-known daytime television programs.

Cause of Death Has Not Been Revealed

At the time of reporting, no cause of death had been announced.

The Missouri medical examiner confirmed that Kelker-Kelly died on October 3, but further information about the circumstances of his death was not immediately available.

He was 62.

Kelker-Kelly is remembered by soap opera audiences particularly for his years as Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, a role that made him a familiar presence on daytime television during the 1990s.
