Bruce Willis made a rare public appearance at his youngest daughter Tallulah’s wedding to musician Justin Acee, with newly released photos showing the actor embracing his daughter and son-in-law in a heartfelt moment.
The wedding and the photos
Tallulah, 32, and Acee exchanged vows on Aug. 8 in the backyard of the Willis family home in Hailey, Idaho. On Aug. 14, Vogue published nearly 100 photos from the event, including a black-and-white image of the 71-year-old Die Hard star smiling with one arm around Tallulah as she leaned into him, while Acee held his other hand. Tallulah captioned the image: “A tender moment with my dad and Justin at the start of wedding weekend”.
A poignant milestone amid his health battle
Willis has largely stepped back from public life since being diagnosed with aphasia in 2022 and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in early 2023. His attendance at the wedding marked a significant moment for the family. Tallulah, the youngest of Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore’s three daughters (alongside sisters Rumer and Scout), had previously written in Vogue about her fear that she would never have her father present at her wedding.
“The best part of the dress is the magnitude. It’s the thing that’s getting me to my new husband,” Tallulah told Vogue of her custom Balenciaga gown designed by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. “We made a decision at the very beginning of our relationship that we were going to choose each other every day”.
Family and fan reactions
Moore, 63, was also present and helped orchestrate a surprise for the couple. Other photos showed Tallulah with her mother and sisters before the ceremony.
Fans were deeply moved by Willis’s appearance. “Absolutely beautiful and seeing Bruce was so heartwarming,” one commented. Another wrote: “Oh her dad made it! I have tears in my eyes”.
A homecoming for Tallulah
The bride told Vogue that choosing the family home in Hailey as the venue held deep personal significance. “It’s the place where I learned to run free and be the dreamer that I am today,” she said. “Justin and I have spent so much time up there that even though it has such emotional pull for me, he feels very much a part of the fabric of the property”.
After the wedding, Tallulah said she felt “overwhelmed with gratitude and delight to begin this next chapter. The wedding was more than my wildest dreams”.
