‘Bachelorette’ Alum Tyler Cameron Is Engaged to Tate Madden: ‘Better Late Than Never They Say’

Tyler Cameron has officially handed out his final rose. The Bachelorette alum, 33, proposed to his girlfriend, model and photographer Tate Madden, 32, and she said yes. The couple shared the happy news in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 15, with intimate photos from their romantic beach proposal.

A Florida beach proposal

The proposal took place on Florida’s Little Palm Island, a secluded beach destination. One photo shows Cameron down on one knee, holding out a ring box to Madden, while another captures the newly engaged pair smiling and embracing. “Better late than never they say,” the couple captioned their announcement.

Bachelor Nation celebrates

The engagement announcement quickly drew an outpouring of support from Bachelor Nation alumni and other celebrity friends. Colton Underwood wrote, “Congrats you two ❤️. Sending so much love,” while JoJo Fletcher added, “Ahh congrats!! ❤️❤️❤️ Love u guys”. Justin Glaze chimed in, “Alright alright alrightttttt congrats y’all!!”. Cameron’s brother Ryan jokingly marked the milestone by writing, “He did it, people”. Other famous friends offering congratulations included Andy Cohen, Remi Bader, and Taylor Lautner.

From coworkers to soulmates

The couple’s love story began in 2022, when they met while working on Cameron’s home renovation series, Going Home with Tyler Cameron. Madden, a fellow Florida native, worked as a photographer on the production and also appeared on the show. Despite crossing paths, their first date didn’t happen until September 2023 — which also happened to be Madden’s 30th birthday.

Their relationship developed quietly away from the public eye before Cameron officially confirmed their romance in early 2024. In a July 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cameron explained why he preferred to keep his dating life private: “Right now it’s better to just build a good, strong relationship”. He also acknowledged that sharing a relationship on social media opens it up to outside opinions — a third party to the relationship that can bring scrutiny.

By September 2024, Cameron confirmed during an Amazon Live appearance that he and Madden were together and living under the same roof.

“She is everything that I’ve ever wanted”

Cameron, who rose to fame as the runner-up on Hannah Brown’s Season 15 of The Bachelorette in 2019, has been open about his feelings for Madden. In a May 2025 interview with Us Weekly, he said: “I think she is everything that I’ve ever wanted in somebody. She is also my best friend on top of that. I think that’s all a good recipe right there”.

Madden, for her part, recalled on the “Trading Secrets” podcast in November 2024 that their connection wasn’t immediate on Cameron’s end. “Tyler and I actually met a couple times before he remembered meeting me. I thought Tyler and I were actually good friends. Turns out he didn’t know who I was”. She was hired to work for him through a mutual friend before their platonic bond eventually turned romantic.

An engagement long anticipated

Cameron had previously hinted that an engagement was on the horizon. During a joint appearance with Madden on Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast in September 2025, he shared that things were “going in a great direction” and that he saw marriage in their future. Madden, meanwhile, made her feelings equally clear: “I would marry him in a second, but I want it to be”.

Now, after gradually taking their relationship from coworkers to a private romance and eventually a public partnership, Cameron and Madden are officially preparing to walk down the aisle.
