Best celebrity pubic hairstyles, opinions, and advice from a Gynecologist

You may have heard of the Triangle, Preteen, Natural, Alpha and Uncle Barry, including anything between a full bush and totally bare pubic hairstyles but here’s something you need to know: below-the-belt hair trends are a fad.

The craze about trimming, curling or waxing pubic hair tells how creative people have become. It’s 2018, and I’m confused about what’s acceptable. Interestingly, men and women have different opinions on what styles they prefer on a partner’s Mt. Pubic. Gynecologists think appearance can be deceiving and risky. Celebrities are divided in their choices too.

Talking about gender equality in the 21st century, lots of women are breaking shackles from menfolk and taking total control of what happens to their bodies. The days of unreasonable beauty standards are gone. This is a new era of “freedom and feminism,” and civilized men are giving up their expectations of femininity. Yet, there’s no gainsaying the fact that womenfolk are angry and rebellious at the moment with their choice of pubic hairstyles, regardless of what the opposite sex think.

A recent survey conducted by Cosmopolitan revealed that pubic hair trends vary depending on geographical location, age, profession etc. Others make hard choices for health reasons.

“We are seeing more and more women give up Brazilian waxes because it’s causing them irritation and ingrown hairs,” says Christian Karavolas, owner of Romeo & Juliette Laser Hair Removal Spa in New York City.

“Also, waxing is not permanent, and it can be a time-consuming process.”

Pamela Jeschonek, owner of Everyday Esthetics located on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, explained why a growing number of women are going Eve.

“Some ladies seem to age out of the style because they have kids and jobs, and it becomes less of a priority,” the esthetician said, making reference to her customers in Pennsylvania, according to Byrdie.com

She continued, “…but younger women [in Los Angeles and New York] are preferring a fuller look to keep in line with their more natural, active, organic lifestyles.

“Most women do like to keep the hair trimmed and out of sight when wearing a bathing suit. But for now, it looks like bigger is better may be making a comeback,” she added.

Cosmopolitan confirmed that 46% of British male participants in the survey voted for “a Barbie finish” on their partners.

“Preteen” appeared the trendiest pubic hairstyle in the U.K. followed by 30% votes for “trimmed”, 12% for “landing strip,” 6% for “bush” and the remaining 6% for “others”.

About 57% of female participants also voted the “Barbie finish” as their best pubic hairstyle, followed by trimming (25%), landing strip (7%) and natural (6%).

While 30 percent of the voters confessed that their partner’s pubic hairstyle would add zing to their sex lives, 40 percent of men said they wouldn’t mind asking their lovers to adopt a more creative pattern. The 4,146 participants were aged 18-35.

Alison Brie admitted growing pubic hair for her role in Glow was a difficult challenge. The Netflix blockbuster featured her a wrestler in the 80s.

“I think during that era they must have been shaving, or were they just pushing all their pubic hair in the center?” Brie told Entertainment Weekly.

“There are some nude scenes on the show and I’d say, well you’ll have to put a merkin on me— that’s a pubic hair wig —’cause if we see full body…I’m working with something that will look good in our costume.”

During Ashley Graham’s recent appearance in Glamour, a reader asked about her pubic hair preference. Her response? Candid.

“Honey, I have a full bush. Period,” she said. “It’s about your preference and your partner’s preference.”

Amber Rose, who is famous for her bald hairstyle, surprisingly grows a full bush like Ashley, too. In a recent Instagram post which showcased her pubic region, the Tv personality added a caption with the hashtag: #AmberRoseChallenge on behalf of “feminism, body positivity and not conforming to society norms of how we should live, what we should wear and where we should shave.”

Emma Watson loves her hair, too. Talking about her head-to-toe beauty routine during an interview with Into the Gloss, she said: “I’ll use that anywhere from the ends of my hair to my eyebrows to my pubic hair. It’s an amazing all-purpose product.”

Ellen Page described her pubic hair as “an old man’s beard.”

Kim Kardashian told Allure, “I am Armenian, so of course I am obsessed with laser hair removal! Arms, bikini, legs, underarms…My entire body is hairless.”

However, the 37-year-old’s love for laser hair removal seem to be changing. Her sister Khloe revealed during a stream in her new app that Kim “now says she wishes she still had a li’l something going on.”

Meanwhile, Kourtney Kardashian is said to be large and in charge with a full “70s-style bush.” In their late 2017 KUWTK episode, Scott Disick (her then-boyfriend) was seen helping out with a trimmer.

Khloe Kardashian didn’t mince words in her descriptions. She loves the “landing strip” style.

Her words, “I’m all about the landing strip. I like to be clean; I like to be manicured. When there’s nothing there, it’s weird, in my opinion—especially when you have tits and an ass. It just freaks me out a little bit.

“I don’t like looking at an adult woman and seeing nothing down there.

“Whenever I’m at the spa, it just makes me uncomfortable when I see that. But then again, it also makes me uncomfortable when I see something wild and untamed.”

Gynecologists are divided in their opinions about hair-grooming and risk of sexually transmitted diseases such as herpes, HPV, gonorrhea, and chlamydia but Donnica Moore, a New Jersey-based gynecologist and president of Sapphire Women’s Health Group, said during an interview with Health, that “your pubic hair is there to protect the skin around your lady parts because that skin is very sensitive.”

“A thick bush acts as a buffer, protecting you from irritation or an infection when your private parts rub up against itchy or uncomfortable fabrics and surfaces, such as tight underwear or damp yoga pants,” Dr. Moore added.
