This beautiful Mohe County, is in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province.
The town was, as it is done everywhere around China during the New Year Spring Festival, decorated with red lanterns to welcome the new year. The county is always covered by snow in winter, which inspires local residents to make amazing snow and ice sculptures to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Residents of China’s northernmost Mohe County usually spend their Spring Festival or Chinese New Year according to the lunar calendar, in freezing cold conditions.
To while away the hours, they often make use of the seemingly inexhaustible supply of snow and ice to create amazing sculptures, which attract tourists from far and wide.
