Gareth Bale has said it that he and his countrymen have no fear but respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, as Portugal and Wales prepare for their Euro 2016 quater final game. He insists Wednesday’s Euro 2016 semi-final will be between Wales and Portugal, not him and Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Tottenham winger who was once rumored to be the world’s highest paid footballer after his transfer to Real Madrid, said he’s not worried about individual achievements.
There has been theories in the media on a gang-up against the Welsh at Madrid, arguing that envious teammates were punishing Bale by not passing the ball to him for being “the world’s most expensive”.
Ronaldo was singled out among the many. The Portuguese was accused of being too overbearing, and burning holes through teammates with his eyes–like an angry god. No, a provoked commander.
But the Welsh has proven critics wrong by scoring crucial goals and rising up to save the team when all hope seem to be lost. However, Ronaldo’s personality has always been there and won’t change; he needs not to change, for that’s what made him one of the best.
The 29-year-old Welshman refused to be pushed into making complicated statements when asked about the widely rumored rift between the pair. He also gave no word regarding hopes of a podium finish at next year’s Ballon d’Or gala.

These are Bale’s words to BBC Sport: “It’s not about two players, it is about two nations in a semi-final, 11 men against 11 men.
“Of course we get on very well at Madrid, we enjoy playing with each other.
“He’s a fantastic player, everybody knows what he can do. But we have always spoken about what we do, what we do ourselves as a team. We don’t worry about the opposition.
“We all believed from the start. As we have said many times, we didn’t come here to make up the numbers.
“We came here to do a job, we came to do the business. Ultimately we want to win the tournament.
“We know we’re a step closer again but, the thing we keep saying time and time again, we can’t think past the semi-final now.
“We have to concentrate everything on the semi. If we can get the job done, then we can look forward to the final.”
